Social Media Automation Series - Part 6: Commun.it

Commun.it is an interesting tool.  It claims to help drive traffic, help you with analytics, and help schedule posts.  It does do those things kind of.  With the free plan,  you only get 3 days of analytics which isn't super helpful.  You can curate content with it, but I didn't find the algorithm to be that accurate.  Tweets were automatically published that had me asking...umm..I tweeted that why?

So you might be asking - what is the point of using this mediocre tool?  Its dashboard tool while very busy has a ton of info that you can act on as soon as you go to the site.  The right side of the page is devoted to Who to Unfollow, New Followers, Who Has Unfollowed You, and so on - all things Twitter follower related.  Another note: Commun.it only supports Twitter, Facebook, and Linked In - no Pinterest.

At the top of the dashboard, every day has an follower focused tweet you can tweet out.  Monday is #HappyMonday helper day and Friday is #FollowFriday day for example.  

Below that are top tweets you can share, but then there's who you should consider replying to, what new followers to thank, and who to thank for retweeting your tweets. That's really awesome right? Yes, you can view this info in Twitter analytics but you have to bounce all over the place to find it. You can directly reply or respond within Commun.it as well!

If you want to have a more in depth view, if you click on the My Community tab at the top, it will bring you to a page that has the full details of every follower, unfollower, retweet, and reply.  I don't always catch all of my regular Twitter notifications.  This tool ensures that I don't forget to keep the conversation going and make sure I thank and respond to those that interact with me.

I wish the interface was less busy but it also provides you with a lot of information at just one glance so I suppose I shouldn't complain.  The being able to respond within the site is a great feature as well.
